Busy gathering sample apples for displayfor our free orchard walk days on 27th & 28th September. - got boxes and boxes full - hope the weather will be good. There's some really tasty apples ripening up so there will be lots to pick

Plums, plums and more plums - this is the peak week for ou rVictoria plums and Merryweather damsons. Burbank plums just ripening and hanging in abundance. We are also picking Williams pears and have several varieties of lovely eating apples just waiting to be picked.

On Saturday 26th July we had our first butterfly walk at he nursery organized by Butterfly Conservation Norfolk branch.

As it was a hot and sunny day there were plenty of butterflies to see - twenty species recorded on the day:


LARGE, SMALL AND GREEN-VEINED WHITE, RED ADMIRAL, PEACOCK, SMALL TORTOISESHELL, PAINTED LADY, MEADOW BROWN, GATEKEEPER, RINGLET, COMMON BLUE, BROWN ARGUS, WALL, SMALL SKIPPER, ESSEX SKIPPER, LARGE SKIPPER SMALL COPPER, GRAYLING, COMMA AND PURPLE HARSTREAK.



The previous evening (a warm and cloudy one) live moth traps had been set. A total of 66 moth species were caught and recorded.
